Build Your Rocket is a free browser game where you design your own rocket piece by piece, hit launch, and see how high it climbs. No install needed, so it runs unblocked at school or work right in the tab. Each flight earns you currency to buy stronger engines, bigger fuel tanks, and sturdier frames. The loop is short: build, launch, crash, upgrade, repeat.

What is Build Your Rocket

Build Your Rocket is a physics-based idle/upgrade game. You pick a set of parts from a catalog, stack them into a rocket, and fire it skyward. Altitude is the main score. Once your rocket runs out of fuel or falls apart, you collect the earnings from that flight and head back to the workshop. The game rewards experimentation: a heavier fuel tank might beat a lighter one once you unlock a better engine to carry it.

How to play

Most actions happen in the build screen and the launch sequence. The table below covers the key controls.

Parts and what they do

Every rocket is built from three core slot types. Mixing and matching is how you find the combination that beats your current altitude record.

SlotEffect on flight
EngineSets thrust and burn rate; higher tier means more force
Fuel tankDetermines burn duration; larger tank = longer powered phase
Body or noseAffects drag and structural strength at high speed
Booster (unlockable)Adds a short extra thrust burst during ascent

Earning and spending flight money

After each launch, the game pays out based on peak altitude and any bonus objectives hit during the flight. You spend that currency in the shop on two things: unlocking new part tiers and upgrading parts you already own. Early runs are short so do not overinvest in one slot. A balanced rocket climbs higher than one overpowered engine on a tiny tank.

Build your Rocket FAQ

Is Build Your Rocket free to play?
Yes. The game is free to play in the browser with no download or account required.
Can I play Build Your Rocket unblocked at school?
Yes. It runs entirely in the browser and does not require any plugins, so it works on most school or work networks.
Does Build Your Rocket work on mobile?
The game is playable on mobile browsers. The build screen uses tap controls, though a desktop or laptop gives you more precise placement.
How does the scoring work?
Your score for each flight is based on the peak altitude reached. Some flights also include bonus objectives that add extra currency on top of the altitude payout.
What should I upgrade first?
The engine and fuel tank together determine how long you stay in a powered climb. Early on, upgrading either one gives a noticeable altitude boost. Once both are at a similar tier, look at drag-reduction upgrades in the passive shop.
Is there a way to reset or start over?
Progress is saved in the browser. If you want to restart from scratch, clearing the site data in your browser settings will reset your save.
Can I play Build your Rocket on mobile or Chromebook?
Yes. Build your Rocket works on phones, tablets and Chromebooks straight from the browser, as well as on desktop.
